About Yazz Productions
Whilst working at Zee TV, Yasmin Qureshi presented the Zee Health Show. At it’s peak this show received more letters and emails from people around the world than any other show aired by Zee TV in the UK. Fans from all over the world were asking for health advice and discussing
medical concerns. Even as she was shopping or carrying on her daily routine, Yasmin was constantly stopped and asked about private health concerns people had and if she knew any solution. It was obvious that there were many Asians who could not or did not know how to access information on health and lifestyle in their own language. Many were too embarrassed either by their weak English or their symptoms.
Knowing that South Asians in particular are more prone to some diseases such as diabetes and coronary issues, Yasmin set up Yazz Productions in 1999. Knowing that good health starts with peace of mind Yasmin was also keen to tackle important social, cultural and lifestyle issues and Yazz Productions was created to provide a platform where the community could discuss these issues in their native languages.
Initially Yazz Productions worked closely with the only Asian Channel in the UK, Zee TV however later it expanded its portfolio and began working with other high profile Channels.
Yazz Productions went on to produce many series on health, culture, social issues and lifestyle for the most popular Asian Channels including Channel East, Sony Entertainment TV Asia and ARY Digital.
We are pleased to have worked hand in hand with companies such as HEART UK, Cancer Research, Diabetes UK and many celebrities who have supported Yazz Productions’ cause.
